About Slices of Nature Exhibition Stand
Slices of Nature is an exhibition stand designed for a producer of edge bands and mdf lam panels. The overhead fascia was inspired by the flexibility of edge bands. A rectangular plan with two symmetrical facades creates balance. Structural elements also act as product catalogs, so the architecture becomes a display. Layered walls present edge bands in many formats. The fascia and the curved panels were cnc cut, and the panels were edged with pvc strips. The bar counter was cnc cut and finished with lacquer paint. The stand is formed by nine custom made modules.

- Unique Properties
- Stella, an edge band manufacturer and Mdf Lam dealer, we designed a stand shaped by a product-oriented vision. The overhead fascia was inspired by the flexibility of edge bands, while a rectangular plan with two symmetrical facades created balance. Structural elements doubled as product catalogs, turning architecture into a display. Layered Slices of Nature walls, diverse edge band formats, and installations highlighted innovation, inspiring designers through material expression.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- The exhibition stand, designed with overall dimensions of width 1000 mm x depth 2500 mm x height 4000 mm, consists of 9 custom made modules. Each module has been designed with attention to functionality and aesthetic integrity, coming together to create a cohesive identity for the stand.

- Production Technology
- The overhead fascia was cnc cut and fixed on site with vertical supports. All curved panels were cnc cut and edged with pvc edge bands. The bar counter was cnc cut and finished with lacquer paint. Pvc elements were applied to tabletops and adhered to metal rods within the curved stand structures.
- Design Challenge
- The most challenging part was discovering the material's limitations. It was difficult to conduct research and development to transform an edge band usually seen as a limited and technical product into diverse forms, from tabletops to curved surfaces, while adding both aesthetic and functional value to the design. The most critical and demanding aspect of the process was thinking user oriented and innovatively showcasing the material’s potential.
- Research
- Our research in the Stella project was product and user oriented. Our goal was to explore the potential of the material; we conducted research and development studies by testing its use on tabletops and in curved forms. Throughout the process, we carried out observations and detailed analyses, drawing inspiration from design platforms. We developed installation works based on silhouettes from nature, thus revealing diverse applications of the material and inspiring both designers and users.
- Inspiration
- Inspired by the layered structure of nature and the flexibility of edge bands, this design redefines the limits of material. Through the balanced harmony of color, texture, and form, the stand reveals the full potential of the product while opening new horizons for designers. More than a display, it becomes a stage where creativity meets nature, offering inspiration and space for exploration.
- Project Duration
- The project commenced on September 25th, 2025, in Istanbul, Turkiye, and concluded on September 28th, 2025, in Istanbul, where it was exhibited at intermob 2025 in September 2025.
- Operation Flow
- The overhead fascia was cut with precision machines and fixed in place with vertical supports. The curved panels of the stand were shaped in the same way, with their edges covered by protective strips. The bar counter was carefully painted to achieve a smooth finish. The tabletops and the curved sections of the stand were also detailed with these strips, completing the design.
