Über Sseuim Stuhl

Sseuim ist ein Stuhl, der für die Nutzung in koreanischen Saunen und Spas entworfen wurde. Der Name Sseuim bedeutet auf Koreanisch so viel wie „frei benutzen“. Die Form unterstützt liegende, sitzende, angelehnte und ruhende Haltungen, sodass jeder Nutzer eine Position je nach Zweck und Komfort wählen kann. Die Gestalt nimmt Bezug auf koreanische Gebirgszüge und Steine und schafft einen privaten Bereich innerhalb des offenen Raums einer koreanischen Sauna. Sseuim ist aus Holz gefertigt und greift auf traditionelle koreanische Holzbearbeitungstechniken zurück; die Einzelteile werden maschinell zugeschnitten und anschließend zusammengefügt. Der Stuhl misst 2300 mal 850 mal 650 Millimeter.

The chair design was carried out to enable various postures in a hot sauna and allow perfect rest. For the rest, we visited various saunas to investigate people's attitudes and asked what kind of rest would recharge themselves most through a survey. Through these results, Korea's natural mountains and rocks were brought to the sauna. The form added a function that can accommodate all postures.
Inspiration: Sseuim means to use freely in Korean. It is a furniture that can assist with various postures performed in Korean saunas, and you can experience various postures such as lying down, sitting down, leaning, and sleeping according to the user's will and purpose. It provides a private space in an open space called a Korean sauna. It is a design that combines the spatial characteristics of Korean saunas and the convergent characteristics of various cultures with the elements of mountain ranges and stones, which are natural elements.
Projektdauer: The project started in Gongju sity, Korea in March 2021, completed in December 2021, and exhibited at the Korea Craft Trend Fair.
Betriebsablauf: This work is a piece of furniture that can support various postures in a Korean sauna with the concept of diversity. Reflecting the ethnic characteristics of Korea, all postures of lying, reclining and sitting are permitted according to the purpose and will of the user.
