Ein 3D-Scan erfasst die exakte Kopfform, anschließend wird die Krone nach traditionellen Verfahren aus mundgeblasenem Glas geformt. Jedes Stück trägt seine ganz eigenen Merkmale. Die durchschnittliche Größe beträgt 25 x 25 x 25 cm. Glas wurde wegen seiner Zerbrechlichkeit und zugleich seiner Stärke gewählt sowie wegen der Art, wie das Licht das Material durchdringt.
