COMO, Italy, September 20, 2017 /DesignNewswire/ A' Design Award & Competition has announced that Renaissance Trench Coat by Adina Banea, designed for Reprobable, has been granted the Silver A' Design Award in the Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design category. The award was conferred within the 2017 - 2018 A' Design Award & Competition and was reached through blind peer review by an international grand jury panel of established academics, design professionals and press members, who scored anonymized entries against predetermined criteria.

What the Silver A' Design Award Means

The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.

Regarding Renaissance Trench Coat

Renaissance is a trench coat designed for both daily and evening wear. The coat is made of wool and has a magnetic closure. Further magnets are placed in the lining. Short handwritten messages on Tyvek paper can be attached to these magnets to change the look. The trench coat can be worn plain for work and then personalised later in the day. The design is urban and minimal in form. Sizing covers 34 to 42, or small to large. The intent is to offer one garment with two moods, from formal to playful.

About Adina Banea

Adina is not built for the ordinary. As an ENFP with destiny number 11 and AB Rh negative blood, her work emerges from a place where intuition, clarity, and emotional resonance collide. She’s a bridge — between logic and chaos, stillness and revelation. With a heightened sensitivity and a mind wired to redesign what others accept, she doesn’t create for trends. She creates from necessity — to express, to disrupt, to realign. Her presence is structure. Her creativity, instinct. Her life, a process of translating the invisible into something others can finally see.

Award Record

With this recognition, Adina Banea is a winner of 1 A' Design Award.

Unique Properties
Renaissance, love and versatility. A beautiful story imprinted in the fabric, tailoring and concept of this trench coat, alongside all the other garments of the collection. The uniqueness of this piece is for sure the urban design, minimalistic touch, but what is really surprising here, it rather might be its versatility. Just close your eyes, please. Firstly, you should see a serious person who is going at her serious, blue job. Now, shake your head, and just in front of you you'll see a written blue trench coat. I've put some magnetic thoughts on it. Written by my hand. With love Reprobable.
Inspiration
The inspiration and the story of this piece comes from the idea that we are born from love, we make love with love in order to born a child only from love. With this idea in our minds and hearts, this fashion campaign took place in Jilava, a place used in the communist regime as a prison, where numerous political prisoners were destined to a slow and sure death, a place with a lot of stories to tell, as our designs have as well.
Research
The research was based on my inner search, a life lesson about love, all experiences put in one storyline for the collection. I wasn't looking for something creative as a must, I always put the accent at an emotional impact, since for me, fashion is not just about dressing the body, is also about dressing the soul. Thinking like this and choosing this concept for the campaign, I realised that the impact was different, since people reacted with empathy and smiles to the collection, embracing the idea of filling your closet with garments that suit your personality.
Challenge
The challenge was mainly making my way through the industry. The secret challenge of my Renaissance's Coat is his hidden magnets. I've put some there with my hand. After, I've wrote two or three words on my tyvek paper and..that was all for changing the style. " Faboulous!" I ve just said to myself when I was finishing the job. " This is the way I will never get bored with my lovely trench. An adult today, child again tomorrow, you always should have one more option. Even if we are speaking here of same coat. This is my challenge always.
Realization and Technology
The trench is made from wool, has a magnetic closure, and, on the other hand, a playful girl just placed some magnets in the lining too, in order to change the style passing through seriosity to a childish vibe. After, I wrote some happy thoughts on Tyvek paper and..kiss the lips! Work done!
Operation and Interaction
Is all about renaissance of the soul through love and through clothes. You can wear it like an ordinary must have trench coat in your closet, for boring working days! But this kind of trench can be transformed in a special one because it is full of magnets in the lining! You' ll be the star when night will come, because you have in your pockets the Tuvek paper which is handmade written and you will put it on your boring trench for an unboring vibe. That's all you need for a great and childish look!
Project Duration and Location
The Renaissance Campaign was launched in Fall 2016 in Bucharest, and finished in April 2017, Romania.
Specifications
The trench was made to fit all sizes: from 34 to 42/ S to L.
Keywords
fashion, reprobable, urban, minimalistic, simple, open-minded, powerful, clean, eco-friendly
