O efecto baséase no principio da persistencia visual, conseguido mediante a sincronización dunha bomba de auga en miniatura co destello de luces LED. A carcasa transparente ten unha alta transmisión de luz, o que reforza o efecto visual. Serena mide 478 mm de altura e 260 mm de diámetro. Unha pantalla táctil e un panel de control intelixente permiten axustar a velocidade e o brillo do líquido ascendente. Serena engade humidade ao aire interior e tamén funciona como obxecto decorativo.
