Parachute વોલ શેલ્ફ વિશે
પેરાશૂટ એ શીટ મેટલમાંથી બનેલી વોલ શેલ્ફ છે. જ્યારે કોઈ વિભાગ ઉપયોગમાં હોય છે, ત્યારે તે વિભાગનું પાટિયું નીચે ઉતરે છે અને તેની જગ્યાએ લટકે છે. લટકતું પાટિયું કોટ, મેગેઝિન કે તેવી વસ્તુઓને પકડી રાખે છે અને તેમને પડતાં અટકાવે છે. તેની સપાટી પર પાતળી જગ્યાઓથી અલગ પડેલી રંગીન પટ્ટીઓ છે, જેથી આ શેલ્ફ આધુનિક પેરાશૂટના ગ્રાફિક દેખાવની યાદ અપાવે છે અને તેને દીવાલ કલા તરીકે પણ જોઈ શકાય છે. પેરાશૂટની પહોળાઈ ૭૯૦ મિમી, ઊંડાઈ ૩૦ મિમી અને ઊંચાઈ ૨૨૦ મિમી છે. આ નામ રક્ષણ કરવા અને પડવાના વિચારોને જોડે છે.

It seems that the name "parachute" comes combining the Italian "parare" (to protect) with the French "chute" (to fall).
I thought that was a rather fine name.
