Txog The Forum Tsev Pavilion
Lub Forum yog ib lub tsev pavilion uas raug tsim los ua qhov chaw rau kev sib sau ua ke, kev ua yeeb yam rau pej xeem thiab kev kos duab. Lub tsev no ua haujlwm zoo li ib lub lav yeeb yam, ib daim ntxaij thiab ib daim duab tom qub qab, yog li qhov chaw no tuaj yeem hloov mus rau ntau yam kev siv. Tus qauv tsev thiab sab nraud raug muab koom ua ke rau hauv ib hom lus ntawm cov nplaim ntws yoog uas tsim los ntawm cov hlau aluminium theem siv rau dav hlau. Rau caum rau daim phiaj uas nyias txawv nyias raug tsim los ntawm txheej txheem digital sheet forming, tsis siv cov twj cuab yeej lossis cov qauv nias, hauv tsis pub dhau kaum ob teev. Qhov tshwm sim yog ib tus qauv tsev loj, sib thiab muab tau ua tej ntu uas tsim tau sai thiab tuaj yeem muab sib txuas nrog cov cuab yeej tes yooj yim xwb.
Qhov Lees Paub
Txog A' Design Award Kub
The Forum Tsev Pavilion yog tus yeej ntawm A' Design Award Kub, ib qho kev lees paub muaj meej mom heev uas muab rau cov qauv tsim qib ib, zoo kawg nkaus thiab tshwj xeeb. Cov neeg yeej Kub yog cov khoom tsim tshiab heev, pom deb heev thiab ci ntsa iab uas qhia txog kev txawj ntse, kev txawj thiab lub zog ntawm cov kws tsim qauv. The Forum Tsev Pavilion xav tias yuav yog ib qho kev tsim uas tau txais kev qhuas ntau, tsim kev nyiam tshiab thiab loj uas ua rau muaj nqi tsis tau muaj dua. Cov qauv tsim yeej A' Design Award Kub no yog ib qho haujlwm zoo kawg nkaus thiab muaj kev hwm uas pab tau ntau thiab nthuav dav ciam teb ntawm kev kos duab, kev tshawb fawb, kev tsim qauv thiab thev naus laus zis. The Forum Tsev Pavilion ua rau muaj kev xav tau heev, txhawb kev mob siab, txhawb kev tsim tshiab thiab ua rau peb xav tsis thoob.

- Yam Tshwj Xeeb
- The Forum will be a stage, a screen, an instrument, and a backdrop, creating space that can be transformed through its use as a venue for convening, public programming, and the arts, fostering a sense of community and encouraging social interaction and engagement. Forum is a prototype for a new way of using new digital sheet metal forming technologies to create large scale, lightweight structures that are easy to produce and quick to assemble.
- Qhov Loj & Ntim
- 12700mm x 5700mm x 3100mm
- Cov Ntsiab Lus
- 3D printed, digital manufacturing, parametric modeling, sheet metal forming
- Thev Naus Laus Zis Tsim Khoom
- The design was created in Rhino and Grasshopper with special attention given to design capabilities and constraints of the manufacturing process. Figur digital sheet forming technology was used to create each unique panel without any tooling or dies. Average time to form each aluminum component was approximately 10 minutes. The structure and façade are unified into one language of fluid surfaces composed of aerospace grade aluminum. 66 unique panels create both structure and form, created using digital sheet forming machinery in under 12 hours.
- Kev Sib Tw Tsim Qauv
- The goal of the project was to create a new language of construction utilizing a state for the art manufacturing method. Designing and constructing a large scale installation that was lightweight, structurally sound and easy to assemble with basic hand tools were all goals of the project. The modular nature of the construction and ability of the manufacturing method to adapt to unique shapes allowed the creation of a unique modular structure.
- Kev Tshawb Fawb
- The team was deeply interested in the physical manifestation of objects - how they’re conceived, designed, and the craft of making. The tectonics of an object are a direct reflection and representation of how they are used and what they can achieve. It is with this understanding that we will rehearse new modes of manufacturing, assemblage and organization
- Kev Txhawb Siab
- The Forum design and structure was inspired by construction and assembly methods not typically found in architecture and the built environment. Specifically in aerospace and automotive manufacturing, sheet metal often has multifunction utilization. By using a single material to perform the tasks of structure, enclosure, and design we are able to create a cohesive and efficient object that becomes a blueprint for a new and unique method of construction.
- Lub Sij Hawm Ua Hauj Lwm
- The project was first exhibited in Chicago during the Chicago Architectural Biennial in 2023. It is currently being reassembled in its permanent home in a gallery space in Chicago.
