- The roof which is made of special cementitious fiber boards and a marine grade mebrane, displays a uniform seamless surface with no visible joints. An optimal visual effect is achieved both from afar and from a closer look, following the original design.
The over-arching roof and shared, glazed facade, give the premise a spacious appearance and let the occupants enjoy a spectacular landscape view. - Hönnunaráskorun
- The two functions of the building, combining a hotel and clubhouse, make it a complex proposition. The idea for a single, unified, and seamless roof seems quite challenging due to the discrepancy in height and awkward marriage of the two buildings with largely different functions. MDL did extensive research to find the technology to effectuate the plan. The result is a dynamic and unified building that in a powerful movement merges almost seamlessly with the surging landscape of the golf course.

- The architectural design for the hotel and clubhouse is inspired by the green undulating landscape of the golf course. The sleek, curvilinear form presents itself with a distinctive aesthetic character from whatever angle it is viewed.
