About Humming Tree Tavolo da pranzo
Humming Tree è un tavolo da pranzo che funge anche da vaso da terra. L'apertura centrale accoglie fiori secchi o freschi a stelo lungo, foglie e rami. La forma è ispirata al profilo a punta di freccia della foglia di taro, con la sua nervatura centrale, le venature e la lamina pulita. La struttura della foglia è suddivisa in due parti, uno strato di pelle e uno strato di ossatura, e la forma della foglia emerge nel punto in cui i due strati si sovrappongono. Il tavolo è realizzato in policarbonato e acciaio e misura 1400 per 950 per 750 millimetri. Il design trasparente avvicina gli elementi naturali ai commensali nelle abitazioni urbane.

- Unique Properties
- Humming Tree is a fusion of dining table and floor vase to hold tall dry or fresh flowers, leaves and tree branches. City life has become mentally exhausting and contact with Nature has become less. The intent is to let the diners experience natural elements arranged in the vase and this will help in reducing stress and negative feelings as they dine. It is a see through design with leaf structure split into two distinct Skin and Bone components. The leaf form becomes apparent when they overlap.

- Benefits of experiencing Nature and natural elements were studied and also the leaf structure of Taro leaf was studied for better understanding while developing the form.
- Inspiration
- Humming Tree is inspired from arrow head shape Taro leaf structure. Taro leaf collects water at its center spot and has distinct midrib and veins structure with clean blade and this inspired me to develop the leaf form into two distinct layers overlapping above each other and elongate and deepen the centre spot till the floor to function as floor vase.
- Operation Flow
- The dining table with collection/arrangement in the center spot is a strong stimulus to the diners since the scale is larger than conventional vases kept at the center of table. The human sized arrangement of natural dry/fresh flower, leaves and branches will help in restoring the mind and evoking positive thoughts.
