Nina & Beni 의자 소개

Nina & Beni는 목조 보트 구조의 형태에서 영감을 받은 원목 의자입니다. 증기로 구부린 두 개의 목재 스트립이 좌판 위로 캔틸레버 형태로 뻗어 나가며, 처음에는 다리 역할을 하고, 이어서 팔걸이가 되며, 마지막으로 허리 부분을 감싸는 형태로 이어집니다. 이 의자는 지속 가능하게 관리된 숲에서 얻은 물푸레나무, 벚나무, 참나무 또는 호두나무로 제작되며, 천연 오일과 왁스로 마감됩니다. 5축 가공기로 절삭된 몰드가 목재 스트립의 증기 굽힘과 적층 공정을 안내합니다. 좌판은 분리 및 교체가 가능합니다. 이러한 성형 방식은 재료 낭비를 최소화합니다.

고유 특성: Two steam-bent strips cantilever over the seat to serve first as legs then armrest and finally mold to the lumbar area. The Nina & Beni chair is made from 100% sustainably sourced forests.

생산 기술: To achieve the complex geometry of the Nina & beni chair we use a 5 axis CNC to cut 2 molds which we then use to steam bend the solid wood strips to their form. We then use another set of cnc-cut counter molds to make the 3d lamination.
디자인 과제: The most difficult part was designing and building the 3 dimensional molds needed to build the chair.
연구: Sustainability is my design objective.
I use wood because it is the best short carbon cycle material, the complex shapes are steam-bent so as to create as little waste as possible.
These pieces are made from quality materials and designed to last a lifetime.
영감: Inspired by the efficient yet beautiful forms of wooden naval structures. Boat building achieves aerodynamic forms that take advantage of the trees grain with little waste.
프로젝트 기간: This project started in September 2019, was exhibited at The Stockholm Furniture fair in January then at the London design fair in September
