Te Hoahoa

Mō Anatomy Of Connection Kete Whakapaipai

Ka tūhura tēnei kete whakapaipai i te kaha mā ngā pūnaha hanganga honohono e whakawhitihia ana ki tētahi āhua ka taea te mau. He mea whakaawe e ngā hanganga whatunga tuwhera me ngā pūnaha io, kua hangaia te hoahoa mā ngā huānga honohono maha ka riro te pūmautanga mā ngā hononga, kaua mā te kaha o ia mea takitahi. Ka whakaitihia e te mātiti tuwhera te taumaha o te rawa i te wā e pupuri tonu ana i te ngotinga hanganga. Ahakoa te māmā, he uaua ā-tirohanga te āhua, ka urutau māori ki te nekehanga, e whakanuia ana te haputanga, te manawaroa, me te ōrite ā-mokowā.

Te Whakamihi

Mō te A' Design Award Parahi

Ko Anatomy Of Connection Kete Whakapaipai te toa o te A' Design Award Parahi, he whakaaetanga tino whai mana e hoatu ana ki ngā hoahoa kōeke e tohua ana mā te auaha, te mahi mōhio me te whakaaro hōhonu. Ko ngā toa Parahi he mahi pukenga e rite ana, he auaha mīharo, e whakatūturu ana i te wheako nui, te whakaaro me te mōhio-ā-ringa o ā rātou kaihoahoa. E tūmanakohia ana ko Anatomy Of Connection Kete Whakapaipai he taonga whakanuia, whakamīharotia, aroha nui, he ngaio, he auaha hoki. Ko tēnei hoahoa i toa i te Parahi e whakauru ana i ngā tikanga pai rawa i te toi, te pūtaiao, te hoahoa me te hangarau, ā, he tino mīharo ki ngā taipitopito. Ka whakatutuki a Anatomy Of Connection Kete Whakapaipai i ngā hiahia, ka pā ki ngā hiahia, ka whakaoho i ngā kare-ā-roto, ā, ka kume i te pākiki.

Āhuatanga Motuhake
The jewelry expresses connection as a structural language. Composed of multiple interconnected elements, the design gains stability and strength through relationships rather than solid mass. An open lattice structure reduces material weight while maintaining structural integrity, balance, and durability. This approach distinguishes the design by combining conceptual depth with wearability and precision.
Inenga & Pēketanga

Designed to interact naturally with the body, the jewelry responds subtly to movement and light. The form was developed through structural exploration and refined to ensure balance, comfort, and wearability. The open lattice construction allows precise fabrication while reducing overall weight and preserving strength and durability.
Wero Hoahoa
The main challenge of this project was translating complex abstract systems into a physical jewelry form while maintaining clarity, wearability, and structural strength. Simplifying highly interconnected structures without losing conceptual depth required a careful balance between form, material, and construction.
Ensuring that the final design remained meaningful and feasible for production was a central focus throughout the process.
Rangahau
This project explores the relationship between abstract cognitive systems and physical design through jewelry. By examining how meaning emerges from interconnected structures, the research translates complex conceptual models into a tangible and wearable form.
The design process focuses on balancing aesthetics, wearability, and structural integrity. The final piece demonstrates how jewelry can communicate complex ideas through form, interaction, and material without literal representation.
Whakaaweawe
Connection is inspired by the way meaning emerges through relationships rather than isolated elements. By observing interconnected systems such as neural networks, the design explores how balance, responsiveness, and structure are formed through interaction. The project abstracts the concept of connection itself and translates it into a wearable jewelry form.

The jewelry is designed to interact naturally with the human body, responding to movement, posture, and light. Its lightweight open structure allows the piece to sit comfortably on the neck and ears while maintaining balance during wear. As the wearer moves, subtle shifts in form and reflected light enhance depth and spatial perception, creating a dynamic visual experience. The interaction between structure, motion, and light reinforces the connection between the body and the design, emphasizing wearability alongside expressive form.
