Over Vortex Haard
Vortex is een hangende haard ontworpen voor openbare en particuliere ruimtes. De asymmetrische vorm van Vortex verwijst naar de vervorming van de ruimte en geeft de haard een sterke aanwezigheid. Vortex biedt twee verbrandingsopties: traditioneel hout of een automatische bio-ethanolbrander. De bio-ethanolversie zorgt voor een echte vlam zonder rook, as of geuren. Vortex is vervaardigd uit koolstofstaal, gevormd door lasersnijden en lassen, en afgewerkt met een hittebestendige poedercoating. Het warmtevermogen varieert van 5,9 tot 10,6 kilowatt.

- This design was created by hand drawing followed by CAD tech drawing.
Its realization consist in laser cutting and welding technology, and finished by thermo resistent powder coating paintingover its main material, carbon steel. - Ontwerpuitdaging
- The biggest challenges in the Vortex design process are related to the need to develop a fireplace that at the same time fulfills its main function, heating, but without ever neglecting its aesthetic and sustainable aspect, fulfilling all the legal requirements for integration in public and private spaces.
- Onderzoek
- Most of the research carried out in the conception of Vortex, concerns the legal aspects and certification of fireplaces to be integrated in public and private places.
As for the research related to design, it was carried out in order to develop a wood combustion product, in which it is possible to insert an automatic Bioethanol burner. With regard to its visual aspect, Vortex is inspired by the strength of a black hole to suck all the material within reach, resulting in its asymmetrical shape. - Inspiratie
- The Vortex by Shelter is customized by the lightness of its asymmetrical form, referring to an imagery of space deformation, resulting in its striking image and dominant presence.

- The project started in October 2018 in Porto and finished in March 2019 in Porto, and was exhibited in Shelter - New Showroom Presentation in March 2019.

Traditional Wood and with a Bioethanol Automatic Burner.
