Ontwerpuitdaging: Finding balance between proactive services and data protection. German market is very aware and concerned about when and how data is being used. This meant that in the designing process we had to find ways how to build trust for the service and give the user the freedom to choose their preferences.
Onderzoek: Preliminary analysis and service design included: Research and Service Design, User interviews, German market research, Personas, Ideation workshops, Name generation workshops, Design based iteration process, Design System.
Inspiratie: The citizens should have a comfortable and secure digital infrastructure at their disposal that provides easy and quick personalised access to matters related to daily lives. We wanted to offer the companies and service providers in the city of Wuppertal in Germany an additional well-functioning digital gateway for their services, thus facilitating their availability. The objective of the solution was to tackle the fragmentation of the city services and take a step toward a seamless e-society and make the services offered by the city accessible to the citizens through a single digital channel.
Projectduur: The project started in February 2018 in Tallinn, Estonia and finished in the autumn of 2020 in Wuppertal, Germany. The app is currently live and introduced to other cities in Germany.
Werkproces: The app is a convenient and free digital solution for the citizens, an easy, quick and personalised way to find answers to matters pertaining to their daily lives. Wuppertal city companies and service providers have now an additional low-cost digital channel for making services even better accessible to the people. They can also use the platform for communicating in real time with all the citizens of Wuppertal, by posting information and using the messaging function. The solution is important at this critical time, when digital infrastructure is indispensable.
