Over Ceremony Rugleuningloze Stoel
Ceremony is een rugleuningloze stoel ontworpen om op te zitten, thee te drinken en te converseren. Het frame is gemaakt van notenhout en verbonden met traditionele Chinese pen-en-gatverbindingen. De constructie vermindert de hoeveelheid gebruikt materiaal, terwijl de zitting stabiel en comfortabel blijft in gebruik. Het zitvlak en de poten worden gesneden door computergestuurde bewerking en vervolgens verfijnd door handmatig polijsten. De stoel wordt geleverd voor montage door de gebruiker. De vorm verwijst naar de Chinese rituele cultuur, waarin zitten wordt opgevat als een beleefde handeling. De stoel meet 400 mm in breedte, 320 mm in diepte en 430 mm in hoogte.

- Use Chinese (tenon and mortise joint) technology to connect the whole. The bench surface and leg are carved by CNC digital control machine in the first step, and then fine tuned by manual polishing. The material is walnut or black walnut, and the digital production adopts 3D virtual model.

The concept of the chair was based on important aspects of a good design, such as comfort, quality, and sustainable values. Nowadays a product needs to represent more than ever these key elements. This concept makes this chair unique along with its minimalist lines.
- Inspiratie
- This seat is inspired by Chinese ritual, which has appeared in oracle bone inscriptions and early inscriptions on gold. In the Book of Rites, Yueling has more meaning of treating each other with courtesy. The behavior of sitting is also a kind of etiquette, and the design semantics of products also follow the etiquette culture and then expand. In the background study, it analyzes the inheritance of the spirit of ritual.
