Over Trido Magnetische Bouwblokken

Trido is een set magnetische bouwblokken waarmee decoratieve objecten kunnen worden gecreëerd. De set is gebaseerd op de geometrie van Platonische lichamen en maakt gebruik van tetraëder-, octaëder- en halve tetraëdervormen. Een gepatenteerd magnetisch systeem zorgt ervoor dat elke zijde van elk stuk met een ander kan worden verbonden, waarbij ze langs de randen uitlijnen zonder elkaar af te stoten. Er kunnen duizenden vormen worden samengesteld, zoals een sculptuur, een vaas, een masker of een houder. De onderdelen zijn gemaakt van ABS-kunststof en de magneten zijn verborgen in een inwendige behuizing. Er zijn zes kleurenpaletten beschikbaar.

Productietechnologie: Trido has a patented magnetic system, which gives strong connection between shapes without repealing. That unique system allows a limitless versatility for assembling, and also makes it very pleasant and simple to assemble new designs. The shapes aligne themselves along the edges. The pieces are made of ABS plastic, while the magnets are safely hidden inside in a special inner "nest". Trido magnetic system is protected by the patents in the USA, European countries, China, Japan, Korea.
Ontwerpuitdaging: The most difficult part was to develop the magnetic inner system for different shapes. A lot of prototyping and testing were applied to find the right solution for the functional and appearance quality, along with the balance of technical issues of production.
Onderzoek: Artur Tikhonenko, the creator of Trido, was very interested in the sculpture and plaster casting and origami technology. He originally wanted to create magnetic biological shapes, but after making some prototypes, he came up with the idea of breaking through the biological series. After experimenting with different shapes, Artur found that only when tetrahedrons and octahedrons are combined in a specific way can they stick to each other without gaps.
Inspiratie: The inspiration came from the sculpture and plaster casting and origami technology. The idea was to make an infinitely transforming piece of décor that could be rebuilt into different shapes, and different styles: a sculpture, a vase, a holder etc. "Playing" with a transformable piece of décor awakes an artist soul and inspires to create. Different mood - different sculpture, new style - new piece of decor - that is how Trido magnetic art works.
Projectduur: The development of first prototypes started in the mid of 2017. In 2020: the first sales started in Europe and China. In 2022: The Red Dot Award "Best of the Best" was won.
Werkproces: Trido magnetic blocks can be assembled in thousands of beautiful decor pieces, i.e. a sculpture, a vase, a mask, a holder and whatever comes on mind. It is very easy to build of Trido magnetic pieces, because shapes are very well magnetized and neither side repels the other.
