Eastern Institute for Advanced Study is een interieurontwerpproject voor de onderwijsgebouwen van een technologie-instituut in Ningbo. Het ontwerp beslaat 1,5 miljoen vierkante meter. Elk gebouw heeft een eigen karakter. Het Ingenieursgebouw maakt gebruik van hangend staaldraadgaas en wandmechanismen voor een industriële uitstraling. De Faculteit Levenswetenschappen integreert planten. Het Informatiegebouw maakt gebruik van metaalachtige materialen en interactieve installaties. Flexibel meubilair en aanpasbare onderwijsruimtes ondersteunen een open en collaboratieve leeromgeving.

- Mr. Yu Renrong, a reputed entrepreneur, has collaborated with the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Ningbo Municipal Government to establish the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo. This institution aims to cultivate exceptional scientific and technological talent and aspires to be a prestigious century old university on a global scale. The interior design team has adhered to, and will incorporate the principles of a classic century old campus in the design of each teaching building.

The Engineering Building features robust mechanized elements such as suspended steel wire gauze and wall mechanisms to confer an industrial feel,the School of Life Sciences integrates ecological plants to liven the atmosphere lively,and the Information Building renders a technological ambiance through the use of metallic materials and interactive information installations.

The design team spent a lot of time in preparing and revising creative solutions.

- In the predesign phase, the team conducted an extensive analysis of typical campus cases at home and abroad. These works include surveying comparable institutions, identifying key strengths and challenges in their designs, and examining material options suited for the geographical and climatic contexts of research-oriented institutions, in order to ensure that the design proposal is not only distinctive but also feasible and practical in real scenario applications.
