Skewed ଭିଲା ବିଷୟରେ
ସ୍କ୍ୱୁଡ୍ ଭାରତର ସୁରଟରେ ଅବସ୍ଥିତ ଏକ ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ଭିଲା। ଏହି ଘର ୧୧,୦୦୦ ବର୍ଗ ଫୁଟ୍ ପରିସର ଅନ୍ତର୍ଭୁକ୍ତ କରେ ଏବଂ ପରସ୍ପର ସହିତ ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ଦୃଶ୍ୟାବଳୀର ଏକ ଶ୍ରେଣୀ ଭାବେ ଯୋଜନା କରାଯାଇଛି। ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଉପାଦାନଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ସିଧା ରେଖାରୁ ଅଳ୍ପ ବିଭାଜିତ କରି ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତରିତ କରାଯାଇଛି, ଯାହା ତ୍ରିମାତ୍ରିକ ଆକୃତି ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ପରିପ୍ରେକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରେ। ସରଳ ସୌନ୍ଦର୍ଯ୍ୟବୋଧ, ସୀମିତ ସାମଗ୍ରୀର ପ୍ୟାଲେଟ୍ ଏବଂ ପ୍ରକୃତି ସହିତ ଘନିଷ୍ଠ ସମ୍ପର୍କ ଏହି ପରିକଲ୍ପନାକୁ ମାର୍ଗଦର୍ଶନ କରିଥାଏ। ସମଗ୍ର ନିର୍ମାଣରେ କଳା ଗ୍ରାନାଇଟ୍ ଚଟାଣ, କଂକ୍ରିଟ୍ ଏବଂ ପ୍ଲାଷ୍ଟର କରାଯାଇଥିବା କାନ୍ଥ, ଆରି ସାଗୁଆନ କାଠର ଝରକା ଓ ଅଭ୍ୟନ୍ତରୀଣ କାଠ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ବ୍ୟବହୃତ ହୋଇଛି। ପ୍ରଥମ ମହଲାରେ ଥିବା ଏକ ବଗିଚା ଏକ ପୋଷ୍ଟ ଟେନ୍ସନ୍ଡ ସ୍ଲାବ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସମର୍ଥିତ ଏବଂ ଏହା ସମଗ୍ର ଘର ସହିତ ସଂଯୋଗ ସ୍ଥାପନ କରିଥାଏ।

Skewed ଭିଲା A' Design Award ବ୍ରୋଞ୍ଜ ପୁରସ୍କାରର ବିଜେତା, ସୃଜନଶୀଳତା, ଚାତୁର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମତ୍ତା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଉଲ୍ଲେଖନୀୟ ଉତ୍କୃଷ୍ଟ ଡିଜାଇନଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରାଯାଉଥିବା ଏକ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠିତ ସ୍ୱୀକୃତି। ବ୍ରୋଞ୍ଜ ବିଜେତାମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଡିଜାଇନରମାନଙ୍କର ବିସ୍ତୃତ ଅଭିଜ୍ଞତା, କଳ୍ପନା ଓ ଉଦ୍ଭାବନୀ ଶକ୍ତିକୁ ପ୍ରମାଣିତ କରୁଥିବା ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଦକ୍ଷ ଓ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟଜନକ ଭାବେ ସୃଜନାତ୍ମକ ବସ୍ତୁ। Skewed ଭିଲା ଏକ ଅତ୍ୟଧିକ ମୂଲ୍ୟବାନ, ପ୍ରଶଂସିତ ଓ ପ୍ରିୟ ବସ୍ତୁ ହେବ ବୋଲି ଆଶା କରାଯାଏ ଯାହା ଉଲ୍ଲେଖନୀୟ ଭାବେ ବୃତ୍ତିଗତ ଓ ନବସୃଜନଶୀଳ। A' Design Award ବ୍ରୋଞ୍ଜ ପୁରସ୍କାର ଜିତିଥିବା ଏହି ଡିଜାଇନ କଳା, ବିଜ୍ଞାନ, ଡିଜାଇନ ଓ ପ୍ରଯୁକ୍ତିବିଦ୍ୟାରେ ସର୍ବୋତ୍ତମ ଅଭ୍ୟାସକୁ ସମନ୍ୱିତ କରେ ଏବଂ ଖୁଣ୍ଟିନାଟି ପ୍ରତି ଧ୍ୟାନ ପାଇଁ ଉତ୍କୃଷ୍ଟ। Skewed ଭିଲା ଆବଶ୍ୟକତାକୁ ସୁନ୍ଦର ଭାବେ ପୂରଣ କରେ, ଇଚ୍ଛାକୁ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରେ, ଅନୁଭୂତିକୁ ମୋହିତ କରେ ଏବଂ କୌତୂହଳକୁ ଆକର୍ଷିତ କରେ।

- Simple aesthetics, a minimal material palette and connections to nature are the main drivers of the design of the Skewed House,the architect’s debut through his firm Studio Lagom. The standalone 11,000-square-foot villa seeks to create an oasis of serenity in Surat’s typical urban milieu through a programme that departs from typical planning of this typology.

- Taking the complete garden on the first floor which connects with entire house was the major challenge. But the research was carried accordingly and it was overcomed by proving a post tensioned slab.

- The architect’s deep interest in photography helped him visualize this project as a series of interconnected vistas, and was also responsible for the ‘skewedness’ of Skewed House. Manifested subtly as elements shifted slightly off the straight line, this was an exercise in creating vistas and perspectives, and adding more life to a three-dimensional object.
