V moderných dňoch spôsobuje nesprávne použitie zdrojov hrozbu prírody a ľudstva. Preto nám môže pomôcť navrhnúť a vyrobiť výrobky s dlhšou životnosťou ako náhrada za podobné výrobky s rovnakou účinnosťou, ktorá prechádza časom. Kombináciou odlišného pohľadu na to, čo alkoholické svetlá robili v laboratóriách, a odlišným pohľadom na nezničiteľné sviečky, vytvorili dizajnéri nový produkt.
