Lu'itau o le Mamanu: Instead of the traditional medal design, we wanted an innovative, conceptual and symbolic shape. Therefore, it is a difficult technology to make metal into 3D, but those problems have been technically solved. As you can see in the photo of the document, we made three types of finishes. We compared matte finishes and glossy finishes, and chose the most subdued finish.
The joint between the medal and the ribbon is embedded so that the metal fittings cannot be seen from the outside.
Su'esu'ega: The Riga Marathon medal to commemorate the 30th anniversary is a 3D model of the two bridges that connect between generations. As for the finish, I made various samples and chose a matte bronze finish.
Fa'aosofia: 2 bridges where the history of the place name called Riga is born from the meaning as circle and connects Riga marathon course, an old town and a new town.It's regarded as the symbol which connects a heart and a heart in today and all generations with history.People of all over the world gathered through Riga marathon in the medal design, and I thought it was notional and I'd like to express the image connecting endlessly abstractly.And the course the track where a runner runs produces was made the form like the flower which celebrates an end of the 30th time of meet.I compose the surface of the medal by the curved surface, draw a three-dimensional turn and assume brilliant completion.
