Animal Backbone është një interier dyqani me pakicë i vendosur në Shangai, brenda një ndërtese historike që dikur shërbente si thertore dhe tani është një qendër kulturore dhe krijuese. Hapësira shtrihet në 100 metra katrorë dhe është ndërtuar me pllaka metalike, pasqyrë dhe qelq. Planimetria ndjek gjurmën e ecjes së një maceje, dhe një rreth ndan zonat e brendshme nga ato të jashtme. Dyert dhe dritaret mundësojnë pamje midis dy zonave, ndërsa brenda janë vendosur skena të dhomës së ndenjjes, ngrënies, kuzhinës dhe banjës. Dizajni fton në reflektim mbi njerëzit dhe kafshët që ndajnë qytetin së bashku.

Respecting the tens of thousands of animal souls, we are always looking for a way to have a commemorative architecture, trying to make an icy building to echo the concrete, and to arouse the painful memories and facts of killing animals because of lust.
