The upper floor is partially retracted to create a hierarchical volume and give an interesting shape of the skyline, create a sky terrace and maximize daylighting. Thus, in order to meet the goals of seismic design regulations and to protect the safety of the tourists, the geological characteristics and seismic zone coefficients of the site were taken into the consideration since the beginning of the construction planning of the Lakeshore Hotel Hualien.
Pananaliksik: The hotel not only symbolizes the local cultural spirit but also provides a comfortable place for visitors from far away to relax. The Lakeshore Hotel Hualien incorporates the unique natural scenery of Hualien, such as clouds, mountains, forest, and sea, into the exterior of the building. Adopts master Ma Paisui's painting The Beauty of Taroko to transform mountains, forest waves, and waves into pentagonal and triangular geometries, which are presented on the corridor and ceiling of the first floor, and the exterior of the building also uses undulating lines to outline the image of waves.
Inspirasyon: The Lakeshore Hotel Hualien is located on the vast coastline of the Eastern Pacific Ocean and the luxuriant mountains that stretch for miles. Inspired by the mountains and the sea, the architect takes the edges and corners of the mountains and the waves of the sea as images and combines them with the painting The Beauty of Taroko by master Ma Paisui to visualize the majestic atmosphere of Taroko, which is surrounded by fog and mist.
