关于 Line Rings 戒指

「线之戒」是一套由九枚戒指组成的系列作品，旨在凸显佩戴者与首饰之间的互动关系。每枚戒指内嵌一颗可移动的小球，沿着轨道滑行，并通过声音、振动与转动带来即时的回馈。整个系列的灵感源自迷宫结构与几何建筑，多段式的构造为小球营造出各不相同的运行路径。戒指采用三维打印与失蜡铸造工艺制成，材质为黄铜镀银。每枚戒指尺寸约为4×4×4厘米。

独特属性: This project is a collection of nine rings that are designed to highlight the interaction between wearer and jewelry. The moveable sphere inside the ring provides feedback to the wearer through sounds, vibration, and rotation.

设计挑战: Precious measuring. After experimenting with different 3D printed materials, I limit the thickness of the wire to 1.2mm, with a 6mm gap in between the rail to ensure the sphere flow constantly in the ring. It is hard to calculate the measurement in a 3D form.
灵感: The Line Collection was inspired by the labyrinth and geometric architectures. The moveable sphere inside slides in various directions along the track, while diverse multi-segment structures bring greater possibilities to the trajectory of the ball. I utilized 3D CAD techniques to bring precision and higher complexity in creating perfect line construction in small scale rings.
项目周期: The project started in September 2019 in Savannah, GA, and finished in March 2020.
