關於 Concord 家政室

Concord係為香港一所中學設計嘅家政室。呢個1500平方呎嘅空間以橢圓形為中心佈局，呢個形狀嘅選擇係為咗表達包容同凝聚嘅意念。學習區設喺橢圓形嘅中央，而洗衣、烘焙、備餐同café區則環繞四周分佈。淺灰色、深灰色同木紋地磚劃分出每個區域，並且同弧形嘅湖水藍天花板互相呼應。白色、木色同湖水藍嘅色調營造出一個寧靜嘅環境，有利於共同學習同合作。

獨特屬性: We believe every student have different potential. Students have various background and ability, there are unlimited possibility inside them. The Home Economics Room is expected to create a safe, inclusive and affiliated atmosphere. The designer choose an oval design that symbolize inclusion and togetherness. Students can use this room to cooperate and complement each other.

設計挑戰: The Hong Kong education system is designed to be more quantitative in decades. School environment is uncharacterized and lacks attention to students needs. We think that every space should be user friendly and unique. The designer hope to activates a new learning experience for the students through the oval structure of Home Management room. Through better learning environment, students can learn different skills, build up confidence and develop correct values.
研究: The one-way communication between teacher and students are not effective and decrease the interest in students to learn. School is not a factory; education should be student based to find out the potential from everyone. The newly designed Home Economics room can increase the efficiency of teaching and learning between teacher and students, as well as looking after individual difference. In the learning process, students develop interpersonal relationship, life skills that prepare them to blend into a harmonious society.
靈感: The whole space is structured by an oval. Students learn in this oval room and build up relationship. This design also provides a safe feeling for students. Lake blue curved ceiling increase the feeling of peacefulness. Outside the oval, recessed downlight surrounded everyone to provide warm spacing. We choose white, wood and lake blue as the main color in order to let students feel warm and comfortable while learning.
項目時長: The project finished in Feb 2022 in Hong Kong Red Swastika Society Tai Po Secondary School.
操作流程: In terms of planning the space, we divided different areas according to the oval. In the middle of the oval is the learning area. There are different areas outside the oval : the laundry area ,the baking area and the preparation area. The cafe area has professional level coffee machines for students to brew coffee and practice their latte art skills for their professional development. In addition, the designer hide a desk with power socket for the sewing class. The floor tile consists of light grey, dark grey and wood grain ovals to divide different areas. It corresponds the ceiling to increase the interest of space.
