حول Woman in Power تصميم أزياء
"المرأة في موقع القوة" زيّ كرنفالي صُمّم للتعبير عن قوة المرأة. يتخذ الزيّ شكلاً مروحياً مزيّناً بالريش، ويُرتدى كقطعة تحمل رسالة واضحة. ويحيل اللونان الوردي والبنفسجي إلى الرمزين العالميين للتوعية بسرطان الثدي والعنف الأسري. أما البنية المنحوتة فقد جرى تأطيرها بأسلاك معدنية وتثبيتها بتقنية خاصة، ثم كُسيت بأقمشة مثل السباندكس والدانتيل، وأُنهيت بالترتر وغيره من عناصر الزخرفة. وقد صُنع "المرأة في موقع القوة" يدوياً من الصفر تكريماً للناجيات.

- This design represents the designer's story, highlighting a woman's ability to take the pain and challenges and turn it into art to inspire other women. The piece is designed by a self-taught woman, who reflects the symbolism of women's power and strength.

- This design was handmade from scratch, using a combination of various fabrics such as spandex, lace, and other embellishments such as sequins. The foundation that created the sculpted piece is framed with metal wire and bonded using a special technique.

- The most challenging design element is the time and effort to sculpt the design with the metal wire. This took extensive time to carve, frame, and secure before the fabric base could be applied. But the hardest challenge was the mental aspect of converting a dark personal story into a design that is uplifting and vibrant design.

- Design by a self-taught designer from the Cayman Islands who utilizes visualization to map and conceptualize the design. This particular design stems from a personal story that is retold in a manner to represent all women. Additionally, there was research using a combination of internet search and discussions to find the best way to create a representation that could speak to the combination of domestic abuse and breast cancer

- This design pays homage to women's battles, specifically those who are breast cancer survivors and abuse. The combination of colors is taken from the global representation of breast cancer and domestic abuse – pink and purple. The design creates a fan-like shape adorned with feathers to create a statement piece representing women's ability to stand strong, stand tall, and overcome the physical and emotional battles associated with breast cancer and domestic abuse.
