Fikarohana: By looking back at the contemporary cultural and sports facility development in Shenzhen, there were two waves in the city’s history. They were in the 1980s and 2000s. With the development of the time, the design of the venues has become larger and the use of functions has become more comprehensive.
Aingam-panahy: Since Shenzhen is the most rapidly urbanized and developed city in China, traditional sports or culture centers with individual functions will not fit this compact urban context. With the site limitation, functions and spaces are vertically stacked up creating a new type of Vertical Sports-Culture Mix. A series of public spaces are blended in to the functional area to encourage social interaction.
