關於 Speech Bubbie 字體

Book Text: 「對話氣泡」係一款專為拉丁字母同中文字設計嘅字體。對話氣泡係漫畫對白入面常用嘅圖形符號,而字形本身亦都可以喺書寫中表達情感。呢兩種圖形元素之間嘅聯繫,啟發咗一種以漫畫形式為基礎嘅全新文字結構。筆劃被簡化成通用嘅對話氣泡形狀,同時仍然遵循原本筆劃嘅走向,從而保持文字嘅可讀性。呢款字體最初以手繪方式設計,然後再用向量軟件製作完成。

設計挑戰: To integrate figurative graphics into font strokes, first of all, we must achieve recognition, and second, we must convey the conceptual graphics to be designed.

Similarly,fonts connote emotions in writing.Realising the connection between these two graphic elements,designers borrowed the form from comic books to reformulate the structure of alphabets and Chinese characters. Strokes are simplified into generic forms of speech bubbles while still following the direction of the original strokes,therefore retaining the readability of the character.
